Cairo & Alexandria Stock Exchanges (CASE)
About Cairo & Alexandria Stock Exchanges:Alexandria Stock Exchange was officially established in 1888, followed by Cairo Stock Exchange in 1903. The two exchanges were active and separate entities in the 1940’s and Alexandria Stock Exchange ranked fifth in the world during this period. In 1997, the Presidential Decree No. 51/1997, re-defined the legal structure of the Exchanges and since then the Cairo and Alexandria Stock Exchanges were managed by one Chairman and the same Board of Directors. CASE is a market operator specialized in listing and trading equities, government bonds, corporate bonds, and close ended mutual funds. CASE vision is to be the Exchange of Choice in the region and achieve market recognition, both in terms of quality and delivery of its services, and as such we will spare no efforts to better serve our customers. CASE is the only Arab Exchange to be a member of the World Federation of Exchanges since 2005, which confirms the compliance of CASE to international standards. Financial and Investor Education Program Profile: Within the framework of its investor education and public awareness campaign, CASE holds annual ‘Borsa Step X Step’ Forum and Exhibition with different target groups, such as students, big corporations, different governorates ... etc. The Borsa Step x Step program is still continuing its fifth consecutive year activities targeting different governorates around Egypt. Moreover, CASE has renewed Borsa Step x Step website to include all the new educational programs, provided by CASE, as well as all Borsa Step X Step Forum’s schedules, news, and subscription procedures. To further remove any misconceptions and to understand the various risks associated with different types of investments, CASE has conducted a project called “Pay You a Visit”, which is a service offered by CASE, free of charge, to any company or a group that consists of not less than 100 people, through an educational seminar for one-two days, about the basics of investment in the stock market. CASE brings along all its experts in the field as well as all educational publications needed to raise awareness about capital market investment. Finally, CASE has introduced an advanced version of Stock Riders game which is a simulation for trading in the Egyptian Stock Exchange which aims to educate students or any other interested party about investment fundamentals in an easy, simple way including all market participants (investors – banks – mutual funds – stock exchange), replicating a real-life trading environment. Stock Riders Group Program, visited different universities and clubs during this year. Educational brochures are periodically published about the basics of investment and the financial instruments available in the capital market and whenever a new tool or product is introduced in the market.
