The International Forum for Investor Education (IFIE) is a non-commercial, private sector organization whose primary objective is to improve investor education on a worldwide basis so that consumers in all jurisdictions are able to make informed choices about financial products and investments. IFIE will achieve its objective by: (1) acting as a clearinghouse for information about trends and developments in investor education; (2) serving as a forum that will allow providers of investor education from all parts of the globe to interact with and learn from one another; and, (3) establishing global standards and best practices for investor education. Through these and other activities IFIE will act as a catalyst to encourage improved investor education programs in jurisdictions where they already exist and promote the establishment of comprehensive and effective investor education programs in jurisdictions where they do not currently exist.
